1/2 day sporting introduction to caving towards Pau

Caving is a discipline that remains a mystery to many people. This is why we want to give you the opportunity to discover it as part of asports initiation.

This offer concerns all sporty people wishing to explore and become familiarized with caving, a practice that links science and sport > at once. A sports course, requiring good physical condition, awaits you, to put you in the shoes of an explorer and experience the emotions provided by the acquisition of new knowledge and experiences.

This route will take you to visit theGrotte Balagué inRébénacq, a few minutes from the capital of thePyrénées-Atlantiques, exactly inPau. You will then leave in a group to explore the fabulous places of this very diverse cave. The latter contains several abseiling descentsas well as climbing passages, which will allow you not only to discover the practice, but also to develop newsporting techniques /strong> which can be useful to you even in other disciplines.

With the state qualified instructor who will take care of you, you will learn a lot about caving, but also about archaeology prehistoric then the fauna and flora of these humid spaces. The latter will give you abriefingbefore leaving for the cave, in order to explain how the equipment works, the techniques required for the route, the safety measures to take into account then anything else you might want to know. You will then have the equipment you will need, in particular the harness, the helmet with lighting, the ropes... You will then be ready to go on an adventure.
