Snowshoe hike in Formiguères 1d

Spend an incredible day in the middle of snowy mountain and explore fascinating places away from the crowds, in the fabulous Capcir!

We offer you a snowshoe hike over the course of a day, for a complete change of scenery and a winter escape that will relax you and put the stars in your eyes. You will leave in the company of a state-certified mountain guide, who will take you to discover the hidden wonders of Capcir. Frozen ponds, Pyrenean peaks and snow-covered woods will all be panoramas that you can contemplate.

This activity starts at the Formiguères ski resort, 25 minutes from Font-Romeu-Odeillo-Via and only a seven-minute drive from the village resort Angles. The meeting point is at the commune of Mont-Louis. On site, you will meet the instructor and then go to the starting point of the Calmazeille chairlift.

You will walk with an elevation gain of 650 m and explore the Capcir in depth, thanks to the accompaniment and briefing of the instructor even before setting off. During your hike, you will reach an altitude of 2428 m, before descending to l'Estany del Mig, where right next to it you will find the Refuge de Camporells, in which you will take a break. You will enjoy a hot meal there, with a view of the Petit et Grand Péric. Around 5 p.m., you will return to the starting point to rejoin your vehicles.
