1-hour barge ride in the Lot valley

A guide will reveal the stories of barges, bargemen and inland navigation. Navigation on the Lot River will reveal the towpaths that the oxen and horses traveled while pulling the barges. During the visit, you will learn that the barges went down and up the waterway loaded with the most diverse goods. Indeed, the Lot was a merchant river until the end of the 19th century. You will discover the fortified houses all along the river which served as toll gates and surveillance.
