Sled dog hike in Chaillol 1600 -30min

Are you spending a few days in the Hautes-Alpes department to practice your winter leisure activities? Add mushing to the adventure list, because it's a must to try at least once!

It's a sled dog ride, aiming to help you test this exceptional leisure activity, to learn more about the musher profession, but also to help you discover a new panorama that will leave you breathless. It is a practice that does not require any special sporting level or physical condition, it can in fact be done by everyone, even children.

It is in fact in the Southern Alps that we welcome you, precisely in the Hautes-Alpes department. You will do this snow sliding activity in the Chaillol 1600 ski resort, which is located in Saint-Michel-de-Chaillol. This town is about thirty minutes from Orcières, 40 minutes by car from Gap and an hour's journey from Embrun.
At Place Bagatelle, in the resort, you will have to park then take the chairlift 1 Clôt-Chenu towards the green slope called le Chemin >. From there, you will have to follow signs marked “Sled dogs” in orange, for a distance of 250 m. Arriving at the meeting point, the instructor will immediately take charge of you, so that he can brief you on how the activity will go, then introduce you to the pack. The sled will be pulled by 8 to 10 dogs, towards picturesque landscapes!
